North-South Expressway packed in balik kampung rush

KUALA LUMPUR: The traffic along the North-South Expressway is moving, albeit slowly, with congestions reported in several routes especially towards the north between Slim River and Changkat Jering on Saturday morning.
A PLUSLine spokesperson said that as at 11am, several roads were packed with cars, namely from Slim River to Bidor, Tapah to Gopeng and Jelapang to Changkat Jering.
The traffic, however, was moving and there were no accidents reported, he said.
Heavy traffic along the Karak Highway around 10.30am today.
Millions of cars have taken to the road since Thursday in a mass balik kampung exodus ahead of the Aidilfitri celebrations.

A Bukit Aman traffic spokesman said motorists heading north to Sungai Perak should consider taking alternative routes away from the Ipoh-Taiping road, due to congestion in the area.
